Lauson Small Engines

My Collection

I often get questions regarding the color my engines are painted. I do not adhere to “authentic” Lauson colors for my renovations. My engines are show engines, and I paint them so that they draw attention to my exhibit at the shows I attend. I learned early on, that a bunch of green engines just doesn’t draw that much attention.

Lauson, for the most part, painted their engines a dark green. Engines sold to Montgomery wards were often painted orange, and engines sold to specific vendors may have been painted other colors as per customer specification.

Above is a photo, typical of the Lauson engine exhibit I take to the shows. A large part of the enjoyment I have in exhibiting at the shows is sharing my collection and information with the spectators who attend the shows; so if you attend a show and see my exhibit, please stop by and say 'Hello'.
