Third Generation Engines

SLV

The SLV was introduced in 1954. This is an alloy block engine and is the design basis for all alloy block engines that succeeded it. This engine features a pressurized oil system, a cast iron sleeve, and an air vane governor. The engine produces 2 HP. The engine was discontinued in 1958 and was replaced by the Tecumseh V-20.

VA

The VA model (not to be confused with the 1929 vertical cylinder over head valve engine of the same designation) is, basically, a SLV with a larger bore to give it 2 1/2 HP. This engine was discontinued in 1958 and was replaced by the Tecumseh V-25.
